The couture shows couldn’t have been displayed on a better week. I’m lacking inspiration this week and there’s nothing better than viewing whimsical fashion shows that can take you to a whole other creative level. These are some highlights from the unbelievable shows.

Paris Fashion Week: Alexander McQueen

Paris Fashion week is near its end and I couldn’t let the Alexander McQueen show go unnoticed. It was a sad, sad day in the fashion world when the designer himself committed suicide just over a year ago. People were questioning if anyone was even capable of taking over the label, or if it was going to be the end.  Sarah Burton, who is now the lead designer  has stunned us all by her unbelievable talent and ability to keep the Alexander McQueen aesthetic alive. The shoes, fur, metal zippers and harness’s were everything needed in creating the ultimate Fall collection.

NYFW: Rodarte

I feel like I haven’t had one minute of ‘me’ time in the last week which is why I have been absent for what feels like weeks. School work seems to have taken over my life and New York Fashion week came and went unbelievably fast. Now that London Fashion week has started I thought it would be time to highlight some of my favorite New York shows; first up: Rodarte. Everything done by the Mulleavy sisters is done with a clear vision which ends in a breathtaking collection. Wheat inspired silk gowns mixed with geometric shapes and floor length coats was everything needed to paint the ‘American Plains’ picture.
