Coup d’etat

When it comes to buying clothes there are things that are worth spending money on and things that aren’t (I go into more detail here). I’m a huge fan of neutral silk blouses and will invest in them because I see them as building pieces that can routinely be used within a wardrobe. I found this one at Goodwill for a whopping $4 and snagged it right up! How often do you come across a blouse that’s 100% silk for that cheap? Not often enough, that’s for sure! What a Coup d’etat!

Hah, the thrift store is always my go-to place for silk shirts! (Because I’m cheap, I feel bad paying a hundred dollars for a silk blouse when I know they’re just waiting at the thrift store for a fraction of the price. ^_^)
I love this, the soft blouse looks so pretty with your flippy polka dotted skirt. I really love how you rock booties, you’ve inspired me to wear them more often!
And oooh, that medallion is stunning. You always have the best jewelry.

I always fear that I’m veering into matronly/geriatric territory when I try on silk shirts, especially because I tend towards peachy-nude tones like the one you’re wearing here, but clearly the secret is to pair it with something playful — like a pleated polka dot skirt — and modern jewelry. This top would look great with your pleated faux leather skirt from F21, too.

I love finding silk tops at the thrift store! They last so long and for some reason, they always seem to come in neutral colors. LOL. That one looks great on you! <3

I like the sumptuous look of the blouse and I agree, a definite investment piece, it looks ultra chic now and still will in ten years time. Great look, Happy Friday doll!

    Hi Caitie,
You’re completely right, you can never go wrong with a silk blouse, and the neutral colours really do form the basis of any good wardrobe. It’s the classic pieces that are needed!

Sigh the thrifted skirt is beautiful!

As always, your posts are lovely and the skirt makes me so jealous! (In a good way of course!)

    Hugs!
