Inevitably, when I wear a striped top and a pair of black jeans I feel a shift in my attitude. I know it’s weird; clothes have that effect on me. Or maybe I’m just imagining having a type of sartorial elegance that I normally don’t feel. Certain pieces of clothing like black jeans and a basic striped top have a je ne sais quoi about them. Why you ask? It’s the French Girls uniform and honestly, who doesn’t want to covet a little French girl swag? Since I’ll sadly never be a Parisian I can at least emulate their style ethics by investing in basic pieces and accessorizing around them.
