French Macaroons
French Macaroons are the type of dessert that can put anyone into a cheerful mood (when they are done right). Over the weekend I gave this recipe a shot and was surprised at how easy it was to make the batter. Unfortunately I don’t have a food processor so it was a challenge to finely chop the almonds, which left the texture a little bumpy. To take the attention off the roughness I went ahead and added pink food dye which made them look all the more pleasant. Ultimately it is more important how the dish tastes than looks, and I know that the ones who tried them were completely satisfied and enjoyed starting the new year off with a delectable treat.
